Madness Coffee

What defines Madness as a roaster is their "fresh-fresh concept": they receive green coffee flown in directly from producing countries to shrink the time between harvest and roasting, and roast it themselves in "The Roastery," a roasting area built into the café where customers watch the process live. They buy coffee from different growing regions depending on each one's harvest season to keep fresh beans in rotation year-round, and work directly with specific producers rather than intermediaries — their Basha Bekele lot, a 90+ SCA-point Ethiopian, is a good example of that direct origin relationship. They attend international events like World of Coffee in Brussels and are Spain's only authorised importer of PRISMA roasters. But by their own account, the brand grew out of research and travel to producing and specialty-consuming countries — before the cafés themselves existed.
